Shower gifts you appreciated...
I have two close friends who are pregnant... My friends and I are chipping into get them a big basket full of bathroom baby stuff they will need (creams, lotions, etc) that another friend of mine loved when she had a baby. I am still doing stuff on my own. I have started picking up clothes here and there... I am planning to do the wooden name letters (if I can ever get all the letters for the name!) and I found a cute baseball picture frame I am making for the dads...
What are some things that you received at your shower, maybe unusual or different, that you truly appreciated?

Re: Shower gifts you appreciated...
i really appreciated everything I got. i loved the burt bees bath stuff I got- i know it's $$$ and it smells so great on her after she gets out of the bath!
i didn't register for it but my friend got me a huge bottle of dreft... which really comes in handy to wash everything.
Also- onesies and sleep & plays for 3 month and 6 month sizes- b/c everyone gets newborn clothes.
a friend of mine made me a basket of books for the baby- the thick cardboard ones- we read those all the time & I know they'll get tons of use as soon as DD is holding them on her own.
of course GC's came in very handy b/c once baby is born you need things that you didn't think of or didn't register for.
On and a pack of pampers swaddlers in size 1 would come in handy too- I had to send DH to the store b/f I got home from hospital b/c we didn't have any!

One of my best friends got us a toy box with pictures of our theme- tropical fish- and filled it with toys from 0 to 3 yrs old. A clothesline is also a great and memorable gift.

Re: Shower gifts you appreciated...
honestly, diapers & wipes in various sizes.
BATTERIES!!!
books, CD's for sleepy time, the children's songs ones for when they are older, DVD's.
Any of the lotions, bath items, bathtime toys for when they are older, keepsake calender or books for all the memories (they make them for school age now too--saw it in the ABC Distributing catalog).
Any books related to babies: how to make your own babyfood, sleep issues (I loved Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child--saved our life).
the waterproof "lap pads"....I had one in the Pack N Play, used them to change her on our bed and when she coslept with us, the full waterproof mattress pads (LIFESAVER).
Pampers.com sells gift certificates for their diapers.
Anything with the childs' name on it...we got a few and I LOVED it. I can't wait to move them to her big girl room.
A collectible bank or ornament for their tree?
A gift certificate for pictures (JCPenny's, Sears, Picture People, Kiddie Kandids, Walmart or Target).
A collection of bibs or outfits for various Baby's 1st Holidays.....
a gift certificate for having announcements made (Ebay or CVS, Shutterfly, etc).
FOOD FOOD and more FOOD. I did not know how to deal with a crying baby and get dinner ready....thankfully our freezer was packed with food that various family made when they were here. OR Slow cooker....that saved me too.
YOUR TIME....to help, to just come keep her company, take a walk, to sit with the baby for 20 min while she takes a shower.

I loved my clothing line as well. I loved all of my gifts. I used everything. You can get Dreft at Costco for a great price. That would be a great wishing well gift IMO. Aquaphor is also perfect for a basket. That stuff is a miracle cream. Claud got me a great BFing basket that I loved.
I got a beautiful Tiffany spoon that I love and have in Molly's shadow box. I know it is not a "usable" gift but I love Tiffany's so it was great. Plus I have 2 Tiffany rattles.
I got a beautiful personalized piggy bank and matching frame when Molly was born. Both are still part of her room.

I really loved evertyhing, but the things that stand out
I got a frame that people signed giving their love and welll wishes to Gianna. I put her newborn picture in it and it's on her wall in her bedroom. I also got a baby book to keep track of my pregnancy, baby's birth, and baby's milestones, i love it.
Lots of picture albums! I have over 1500 pics of Gianna already!
Diapers, wipes, season appropriate clothes in variety of sizes. Baby washes-My fav-Johnson's natural-the one in the green bottle-smells incredible nice! Cups, mealtime things for when they are older.
DD loves her teething blanket too.
