Shower Hostess Gift?
What did you give your shower hostess(es)?
My shower is this weekend.  My mother-in-law is hosting it. I found a cute porcelain frame that says "Me and My Grandma" on it. Is that a good gift? Should I get her something else to go with it?

I never gave a gift  I just gave my mom and MIL a big hug and nice personal thank you card.

I found it at a gift shop called Very Good Things on 60th-ish and 3rd. (I work near there.)
It is really cute and pretty. They had another one for "Me and My Mommy" but I refrained from buying it. I'm on a DH-imposed baby stuff buying hold until after the shower. 
As for hostess gifts, I don't know if that's the norm or not. I gave them for my wedding showers but I think that was mostly because I love shopping for other people. That's enjoyable to me...shopping for stuff I need is painful.

I did it for my wedding shower, but now I feel guilty whenever I spend $$ on something not absolutely necessary thats not for the baby.
I think I'll go with a frame too. Its not $$ but shows you appreciate them.

for my first shower it was a total suprise so didnt think to do that and this time around several people are putting it together so I think they will just get my thanks and appreciation

I've never heard of presenting the shower hostess with a gift. But it's not a bad idea at all. The frame is a nice idea. Nothing too expensive, but it shows that you really appreicate what they did for you.
ETA: It's not something that I would worry about doing though, because I don't think anyone expects it.
