shower question
I have an unusual situation . . .
DH and I are living out of state, but my whole family and most of our friends live in/around LI, so we're planning a visit for a couple of weeks in June. It'll be the only time we'll get to see everyone during the pregnancy, so even though I'll only be about 25 weeks, I'm pretty sure we'll be having my shower then.
I have a lot of male friends and my DH wants to see everyone too -- so I don't just want a "regular" shower, but my mom and DH both laughed at the idea of a "jack and jill" shower. And honestly, no one in my family would really be into it.
At most of our family showers the men sort of hang out in another room, but I want to do something more official for the men. Plus I'd like to have everyone be able to mingle at some point (probably after the women do the gift thing).
DH and I were thinking of having the shower for the women in the early afternoon -- like a tea party sort of thing. And then have a BBQ for everyone to enjoy afterwards.
Has anyone had a shower like this? Any ideas about making something that both sexes can enjoy while still maintaining the "shower" tradition.
TIA!!!

Re: shower question
i believe that is what is going on for my shower. I requested a BBQ type shower, or an "after party" where all the guys/kids/ neighbors, whoever, could come to my house, hang out and celebrate with us.
