This was a weird topic with us PRE children. But..having 2 under 2...it became much easier to bathe them together. My step daughter is 3.5 and son is 2 and they bathe together still. She has acknowledged that he has different "parts" than her, but we just explained boys are different than girls and she left it alone. We will probably only let them bathe together until she is 4 though...or if we are given any reason not to before that!

Recently, DH started showering with DS. We would have never thought of this, but DS went into the bathroom when DH was showering and took all his clothes off and started to climb in. He now likes showers better than baths and it is much easier and faster. Every night he says "I shower Daddy?" waiting for his shower time. DH is still precautious though and covers his private area while DS is in the shower because he says he is right at "eye level"

I really think this is a matter that is different for each family. As long as you are not showering with your kids after elementary school I think it should be ok. At some point, they are going to want to shower alone anyway!

I don't think it's a big deal, but I have to admit that in the deepest recesses of my mind I *think* I remember being in the shower with one of my parents (I was YOUNG). It's super fuzzy and innocent, and obviously I have never asked them about it because it would be rather awkward...but I am not sure what I would do with my child....i

I think up to a point it doesn't really matter because babies don't really know or inderstand sexuality. My kids are 3 and 1 and both boys I change in front of them and have to shower with the door open so I can see them. My three year old is starting to ask questions and now I have to start to be a little more discrete. It's hard when I am the primary caregiver and need to get changes and shower with no one to watch them.

I shower with our 3 year old DD all the time. She has asked me questions about my body and I answer them and thats it - she was bf for a long, long time so I am very comfortable with being naked around her - I dont run around flaunting myself but I dont get changed under a towel either. Dh used to take showers with her but hasnt in months as his schedule doesnt really allow it but if he was to be in the shower and DD walked in it would not be a big deal at all to us.

I can tell you what we do/did with Jacob. When he was ready for the big tub, Me or DH would bathe with him until he was ready to sit in the tub by himself. From that point, only DH bathes/showers with him if needed. He is 2.5. No one else in the family would bathe/shower with him...I just dont feel comfortable with that.

We shower with DD all the time. She is almost 4 and I have no plans on stopping right now.

I do understand everyones comfort level is different, but I do have to say (esp. if you don't have kids yet) never say never!!

My DD HATES baths...so showering was the only option. If you had asked me before I had her how I would feel about showering with her I am not sure how I would have answered...it sort of came about as a necessity.

I did it with my son. When he was an infant I would bring him in the bathroom with me in his bouncy seat, as a early toddler I would bring him in, in his highchair, I have taken bathes with my son, and he still sees me getting dressed sometimes and he is now 2 1/2 yrs old. He also sees his daddy getting dressed.

I feel that there is nothing wrong with it as long as you dont make it an issue.

Besides the whole bathing thing my son still has to be in the bathroom with me when I have to go. Where do you think they learn from --- there parents.

To each his own.... You do what you feel comfy doing...

I never do. I do think nudity should be something private and that is what I am teaching my children.

I never let my toddler see me naked and never would I or DH bathe with him.

DD is too young yet to know what is going on so she is in the bathroom with me when I shower but when she is old enough, I will cover up in front of her too.

Personally, I think it is inappropriate.

I agree. I showered with my mom occasionally until I was in kindergarten. It was just easier for her if we had to go somewhere, or if we had just gotten home from the beach or pool and both needed a shower. Joey is 12 months, so he's too young for showers. But once he is old enough, I will probably take him in with me sometimes.

My DS used to shower with me until he was almost 3. Not a big deal We used to have a beach house, and we had an outside shower stall, so it was easier that way. Most of the time he took his own tub bath b/c he adored a bath w/ bath toys.

I never showered or bathed with DS but while we were on vacation is was so much easier for DS to jump in the shower with DH. I dont see it as a big deal at all. DS who is 2.5 walks in on me all the time while I am showering or getting dressed.
