showing early?

When did you start to show.

I am 8 1/2 weeks and at 7 my family members said they could tell I had a little belly. Now I am pretty sure it is not the baby, but bloating. What to do???? I dont want others to know before 1st trimester.

Re: showing early?

With both of my pg's i "showed" around that time, but it's def more bloating than baby.

I found that if people didn't know I was pg, they just thought i was gaining weight in my tummy.

Re: showing early?

I actually think it's impossible to show that early...something about the uterus not growing significantly until after 10 weeks or something...

It's all bloat right now.

Re: showing early?

same here with my pg...my belly was bloated in the beginning...but no one noticed but me. I couldn't button my pants anymore around 13-14 weeks and felt that others probably noticed the chubb by then!

Re: showing early?

Its bloating. Most people get bloated very early on. Mine last till about 12 weeks or so and I had a belly. Then it was just gone. LOL

I started to show around 18 weeks.

before 12-14 weeks, nothing in your tummy is big enough yet to caus eyou to show...

Re: showing early?

I swear I had a belly at 8 weeks --- so much so that my neighbors all congratulated me because they could tell I was pregnant.

Re: showing early?

i am 9 weeks and last week people were telling me i was "showing". I told them I am just getting fat. i know that it is just bloat but it's really only in my belly so it makes me look like i am showing. i am quickly outgrowing all of my clothes. I hope the bloat goes away but i am not too hopeful! i am glad I am not alone though - i was beginning to get depressed by it!

Re: showing early?

With #1 I did not show until about 22 weeks (thats when I went into maternity clothes too)

Ditto with #2

With # 3 (this one), I started to show maybe a week or 2 earlier, like 20 or 21 weeks.

Most of it is probably bloating. Just wait till you can no longer find anything below your waist! Chat Icon

i too swore i was showing at like 10 weeks - but then at 13 weeks woke up and it was all gone - it was bloating... now at a bit more than 17 weeks - i def have a bitty belly - and it is def baby - before it was kind of a swollen all over belly - now it is more of a tiny lower rounded belly....

Re: showing early?

I started to show about 7 weeks.....but I think it was mostly bloat and swollen ovaries because of the IVF.

Re: showing early?

I was in maternity jeans by 9 weeks. I went from bloat right into belly - mine never went down.

Re: showing early?

I started to "show" right around that time also. It's bloat, really not the baby at all at that point.

I'm 14 wks. now and just slightly larger over the past week or so (now I think it might actually be a little baby showing).

If your bloating goes like mine did, it seemed like I got a stomach overnight, but it never got much larger until very recently, so you should be fine keeping your secret until you're ready to tell people. I think those in the know will notice, but probably no one else will.
