Sick Cherry Tree - please help! (w/ pics)
I planted a new weeping cherry tree in the island in front of my house last fall.
It bloomed in the spring and looked so pretty! But... In the past few weeks, all of the leaves have shriveled off and dropped off.
Do you know why this could have happened? I was watering it, maybe I could have watered it a little more, but I WAS watering it, and none of my other trees / shrubs died (all were newly planted as well).
When I split the branch open, it still looks green inside of it. Do you think there is still hope? Any gardeners out there???????
Please help me if you can - I tried to search on the internet and couldn't find anything.

I would go to your local nursery and talk to them. There are antibiotics that you can apply to the roots which may help revive it. Good Luck.

Re: Sick Cherry Tree - please help! (w/ pics)
we had something similar happen to a tree that we had planted. My mom took ne of the leaves to the nursery and they told her the roots were too wet and starting to rot. Its not because she watered them too much but that we had too much rain the the new tree couldnt handle it.
She was told to sprinkle baking soda aroung the base of the tree to "dry it up" It worked very well!!
My advice, take a leaf to a nursery....not Home Depot or Lowes but a real nursery and a picture of the tree the way it is now and see what they say!
good Luck and I hope your tree gets better!!
