Signs They're Ready to Potty Train
What were some of the signs your DC gave you to indicate they were ready to potty train? Then what did you do? Did you use a portable potty or help him/her use the 'big' potty?

Re: Signs They're Ready to Potty Train
Ryan's only 16 months but I got him a little potty the other day b/c he points to his butt and says "poo poo" and is constantly chasing me into the bathroom for pee pee time (I'm PG so we're in there a lot). Since he has showed some interest, I thought I'd get one to start associating him with it - but at his age, I don't expect much. I just let him sit on it for a minute or so before bathtime to teach him what it is - usually he sits and pretends to go (grabs TP and all ) but sometimes he climbs in it

WAKING UP DRY!!! So many people told me that was a key sign. Once that started happening then I used a little potty for almost a year. She just turned 3 and just started being able to get herself on the big potty.

Re: Signs They're Ready to Potty Train
DD started showing interest at 18 months. She would sit on the potty at daycare and point to sit on the one at home, but she never actually went pee pee or poop. I got her a little one that she can get on herself - the interest faded fast and she didn't go back to it until 2. At 2 she'd say she has to go and 50% of the time she'd actually go on the potty. She's trained at 2 1/2.
Isn't your DD 13 months? Is she showing interest already?
ETA once DD was able to climb up the on the stool I bought a 2 in 1 toilet seats to put on our toilet and I love it!!! SO easy to use and clean. No more cleaning out that yucky potty!!!

Yes, she's 13.5m...and I'm not sure that's why I asked
She is aware of her diapers and will verbally tell me she has a 'poopie diaper'. When she has a wet diaper and I ask if she wants to change her diaper, she grabs at it and tries to rip it off LOL She is uber curious about my trips to the bathroom...and 'wipes' her baby LOL
I was fully potty trained at 18m...so I imagine DD could be interested in it at this age. I'm not expecting anything, I'm just curious.
I might get a little seat just to see what she does.

Re: Signs They're Ready to Potty Train
What about my DS? He's 18 mos, is a big money see, monkey do'er. When I go to the bathroom he sits on the step stool in the bathroom. I don't think he knows what I'm doing, just sitting....any thoughts?
