SIL gave me nip lotion and nursing pads this weekend
she described the initial pain of breastfeeding like this . . .
"you know the pain you get when you have a really bad cold sore on your lip? And then you put salt on it? That's what it feels like. But worse"
I can't wait!!!

at least she said "initial" 
i have heard that you can "toughen up" your nips in the weeks prior to delivery so breastfeeding is easier... a woman from parenting posted a thread recently.
