Silly question- personal items at the
hospital?
Ok, I guess this is the deal, you go into labor you grab your hospital bag, and your purse and head to the hospital.
When you get there is that stuff in the birthing room with you? Is it locked away? When you move to your hospital room where you sleep will it be there waiting for you?
I totally forgot to ask these questions during the hospital tour last week.

Re: Silly question- personal items at the
I will probably leave most of it in the car until I am 'settled" somewhere. DH can always run out and grab what I need.

Re: Silly question- personal items at the
At my hospital I give birth and stay all in one room. So my personal things will be in myy or DH view at all times. Im not worried.

Re: Silly question- personal items at the
I packed two smaller bags-- a labor bag, and a hospital stay/postpartum bag. DH will get the other bag from the car once I head to the room I will be staying in.

Same with me. If you will be in separate rooms, I would leave it in the car and have DH go get it once you're settled.

Re: Silly question- personal items at the
I brought a small bag of things I would need with me in L&D. My family brought my larger bag to me once I was settled into my room. Honestly, it was my experience that I didn't need "much" in L&D. Just breath mints and a camera mostly. Oh, and chap stick too. I also sent my wallet home with DH cuz I had no use for it in the hospital.

No it was not locked away actually they recommended that I not keep my rings etc. My personal things were given to DH to take care of - then they are just left in your room after you deliver. I wouldn't bring anything of value.
