Silly question regarding labor
Sorry for the silly question, but what do you wear during labor? A hospital gown? Or your own clothes (well, shirt). I ask because I know in the beginning, people will be coming in to visit. Thanks!

Def. wear the hospital gown, things can get pretty messy you don't want to ruin your own clothes.

Re: Silly question regarding labor
I went on a hospital tour this weekend as part of my lamaze class and was told that they want you to wear a gown for the labor/delivery, but to bring a robe and slippers/flip-flops so you can still walk around...

def the hospital gown. It does get messy. Maybe by the second day you may feel comfortable enough to put on your own night gown but keep it loose, u dont want anything binding you or keeping you from moving the way you want to, when you want to.

Hospital gown. And remember, it gets messy, and you are going to be in pain. If you do not want visitors while you are in labor, its ok to tell them to leave. My cousin invited EVERYONE to her labor, and then when she actually went into labor, she went ballistic and threw everyone out

WHO would invite anyone to their labor??? Wow - that was some ambitious thinking - i just know I only want DH in there - and thats because I'll need him to do stuff for me!!!

Do you get to wear underwear at all? Doesn't it seem drafty if you don't wear them near the beginning?

honestly, you're monitored so often that you need that area easily accessible, if you know what I mean... they make you just wear a hospital gown and in the beginning you can have a blanket on top.

OOFTA!!!! I just can't imagine walking around to progress, wearing a gown, robe, slippers and an open coochie!!! Maybe I'll practice as I get closer.
