Since Christmas is about 2 months away...
do you holiday shop with a budget and list for who you have to buy for?
or do you just kinda wing it and get what you feel?
if you use a budget, how much do you usually allot yourself?
for me, i think its a combo of a list and winging it. i always make up a list and guesstimate how much i'm gonna spend, but then when i get to the store it changes completely!

List and budget. Each year my budget has gotten tighter. DH and I rrely exchange, too many other people to give too My sister & BIL we spend the most on, then parents and down the line.

No budget, just a list. We have gone crazy in past years and we've toned down. To give you an idea, one year we spent $100 just on PET gifts!  This year we're doing homemade gifts for most people, and supplementing with smaller store bought gifts (except for the pets--their gifts will be 100% store bought). So it should be nice for them and a lot cheaper for us!

I start with a list and a budget... most of the time i fall below the budget because of sales and I use that extra money if i see something for someone else that maybe more than i budgeted.

always a list and budget. the budget is based on my yearly bonus from work and the list comes from ideas i have come up with and things in particular that are asked for. i rarely wing it b/c when i do that i freak out on what to get, feel overwhelmed and go way over budget.

I usually start with just a list and no budget. My list usually just consists of people we have to buy for. If i know what i want to get someone then thats on the list too. We have gone way over board though. One year we spent almost $1000.00 between our niece and my god daughter. We have toned it down a little though. This year i am hoping to Catch alot of sales.

List and no set budget. I have an estimated range on what I'm willing to spend on each niece and nephew, but their ages vary and so do the prices of their toys.
I wish I could have a budget for DH and stick to it. He tends to over-buy for me.

I start out with a list of who I have to buy for, and I always start with the kids bc they have lists of what they want so it's easier to shop. Then while I'm looking I see things and come up with ideas for the adults. I always have to work within a budget, not only for my own finances but so that everyone gets an "even" gift.

We do secret santa with both sides of our family with a set limit.
Then I have a list with an approximate amount in my head for the rest....

List and budget. Last year I had two nephews to shop for. This year I have DS, another nephew and now a niece also to shop for. So, 5 children, plus our parents, my grandmother, our brother's & SILs...A Lot of people..
