Queens (Forest Hills area) or Western Nassau (Manhasset, Great Neck area)

well if it's a Sunday you can always do the Garden City Hotel. It's pricey though for brunch!!

Is that near the LIRR? My sister and her family are coming from the city, but due to the Marathon on Sunday, they are taking the LIRR.
I thought about that, but again, need something near LIRR or subway.

The hotel is less then a 5 minute walk from the train. the brunch is outstanding!!

Thanks... but at $64 per person and $32 for children under 12... no way! 
Yeah, I should mention, my mother and her husband will have suitcases with them.
Thanks, I think we're actually going to stick to the city, and DH and I will deal with the marathon traffic and closures getting there from Queens.

if you go to the city my family goes to the Bryant Park Grill for brunch. It's pretty good and not bad prices.

oooh love brunch in the city...the cafeteria makes a good brunch it is a small rest on 18th and 7th ave...on long island....all the brunch places i know are further east...babylon has a few places and the babylon train station is close to most of them...the argyle, pronto are my two favorites in babylon

I would recommend the Garden City Hotel - otherwise places like Riverbay in east williston, or Waterzooi in garden city are good too.
