Since Misery love company anyone wanna share our horror stories of 3yr olds?
Ugh. I skipped terrible twos and I am half way through 3 and WHAM! Like a sledge hammer!
Last night she tossed a fit because it was bed time. She looked at me like I had sentenced her to solitary. She lowered her head and walked into her dark room. Didn’t want us anywhere NEAR her. So she was in there quiet for awhile. I go in to put her blanket on (I had just washed it). OMG you’d think I’d offered her a snake. NOOOOO go AWAY! I don’t want you, I don’t want my blanket, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Um ok. I was already walking out after the first no, thanks.
She then spent the next 10mins crying with the door open. Then she starts to cry for daddy. He walks in and she yells at him too, then sends him out. Then cries for Daddy & Mommy. So I walk in. “NOOO I want Daddy too” um he’s coming. He walks in. She tells me “NO! you stand there” I move to the foot of her toddler bed and ask if I can sit. Then she crawls into my lap gets comfy and starts to doze.
Lovely? Sure. Crazy? ABSOLUTELY! Then she gets mad when I tried to lay her down, then cries to make me move myself so her feet aren’t dangling and my knee supports her head. Seriously kid, whats the deal? She finally sleeps, I get out of the pretzel she has me in. Put a blanket on her and go out. Its nearly 11pm. Ugh.
We go to bed and at 3am I hear ‘daddy, daddy, daddy’ very faintly. Odd since her monitor is on. I wake up the hubby and he is confused too. He goes over and she’s NOT in her room.
She had gotten up at one point, went to my brother’s room (who’s not here because of legal issues – see prayer board) crawled into HIS bed and under the covers. She was crying cause she wanted her towelie. Then told Daddy she wanted him to sit and read her a book. He told her he needed his glasses.
He came to the bedroom to tell me and my answer “pfft, just take your time, let her stew, I bet she falls back asleep” and sure enough she never called for him.
So she slept in the spare room where we have the vent shut off, but the door was open so it wasn’t too bad. In the Full Size bed that I had once considered moving into her room. Now I wonder was it a ‘thing’ or should I move the bed into her room.
But my god.. all the crying, for NOTHING!
