Sippy cup top question - Does this happen to anyone else - biting the spout issues
Ds bites the spout on the sippy cups - he does it in between sips - before he drinks and after - he is teething so bad but he has been doing this for months. The thing is the tops get ruined so fast - I started with gerber and have now been using the playtex bpa free ones and the same thing happens - the plastic gets dents and starts peeling off - I am replacing sippy cups on a regular basis - is this normal? Also, i bought the one with the straw but it says on the box that they shoulnt chew on it - I am assuming that means it could break off? DS has quite a bite and now I am afraid to let him use this b/c I am afraid he will bite the plastic tip right off!
Any advice on this? TIA!

My daughter does this. I use to use the Nuby ones and my older daughter would bite the tip off, the scary part was my younger daughter would find them and put them in her mouth. I found them twice in her mouth before we decided to switch to different cups.
So far we have been using the Playtex straw cups
and she has yet to bite the tip off (I can see teeth marks on it though).

I actually just bought this cup but have been nervous to try it b/c of this!
I hate having to replace his sippy's all the time - i can't believe the tops are not more bite resistant...or maybe this is just my child?

We have some scratch marks on ours because DD loves to bite on the spouts. She even tries to chew on the straws (although I think that is more for fun since they bend - it's more like she's playing with it than biting it)
