Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
I'm just curious if anyone here uses a special "CPAP pillow" like this one: Contour Living? If so, what do you honestly think of it?
I just started using a cpap again after a few years off of it & I really want to make it work for me this time (esp. because I'm pg)...if you have one, would you recommend it to others?
Thanks!

Re: Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
My DH used it for about a month, then gave up. But he kept trying to sleep on his belly, which obviously isn't helped by the pillow. When he slept on his side, he was good.

Re: Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
Thanks so much for this post my Dh has sleep apnea and he hates using the machine because it always wakes him up when it moves. I am going to order this product and hope that it helps.

SO odd that you mention this NOW...i sent this link to my dad 2 days ago!!!!!!!!!!!
He doesn't have the FULL mask, so it wouldn't be good for him - he only has the nasal stuff.
He is currently using a 'gel pillow'. I will get the name and brand from him - he's VERY happy with the pillow so far....(he got it a few weeks ago).

Re: Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
Just some info for all who suffer from sleep apnea.
I have it as well and was never able to wear that machine at night.
I just met with Dr. Lynn Pierre in Hauppauge, she is a dentist who makes customized mouth pieces that thrust your lower jaw slightly forward while you slepp which keeps your airway open.
My insurance is covering it (she said most of them do) and I go tomorrow for my mold to be made.
Will keep you all updated

Re: Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
WOw, the pillow looks interesting for my husband. Hmm, I guess "pillow interference" is a medical term I have not heard before.

Re: Sleep Apnea: CPAP pillows
Yeah - it does look interesting, right? I wound up ordering it yesterday. I'll try anything that might make a difference
I originally wanted the mouthpiece, but my ins. wanted me to try the CPAP again first, so I did. This time I have a way better mask & I'm actually ok with it - until I roll over & break the seal. If this pillow does the trick I'll probably stick with the cpap, but I'd LOVE to hear what you think of the mouthpiece when you get it, Jess. I always hear conflicting reviews...good luck with it!

I can't find his current one on the cpap website....i'll take pics tomorrow :)
