Sleep Number Bed--Store or QVC

Today I went to the store and found 2 mattress I liked, the I10 and I8 with Flexfit Plus Adjustable Base for about $10,000 (cannot afford this). I mentioned to the woman that QVC offers them too and she said they are a low level model and not as good as the store (I don't believe this). Has anyone bought one from QVC or have an opionion?

TIA

Re: Sleep Number Bed--Store or QVC

We bought one from QVC 9 years ago. We hugely overpaid...and we absolutely hate it. We are currently shopping for a new, traditional bed.
In hindsight, the one we bought from QVC was way too much money. It was kind of comfortable for a year or two, and somewhere along the way, it just feels awful. My adjuster works horribly - it takes forever and I feel like it just randomly displays a number. Then, the number drastically changes in a few days (not the feel of the bed, just the displayed number. The feel of the bed takes about a week to feel "wrong").. It's a chore to readjust. I wish wish wish we didn't purchase this bed. The divider in between the two chambers is just plain uncomfortable. The "mattress" part is just an uncomfortable, overpriced air mattress. I hate it.
Reconsider, but if you do purchase, I don't trust the models that QVC sells. I do believe they are older models, or lesser models priced much higher.

Also, ours came with a cheap egg crate foam layer on top. I suspect this layer of " comfort" drove up the price significantly. I believe target sells better "egg crates". Within a year, this crappy foam piece developed mold and we threw it out. It was so thin and just complete junk, and I believe it was probably already slightly moldy when we got it.
Good luck!

Haaaate the sleep number bed! They are known to get moldy, the space between the chambers creates a canal between you and your partner so you can't snuggle unless one of you goes in the dip. I sleep sideways and always end up halfway in the dip and now my back is always killing me. Worst bed ever!

Re: Sleep Number Bed--Store or QVC

I was texting on Sleep Numbers website said QVC are made just as well but leave out one thing compared to store.

you: Sleep Number KG Limited Edition Modular Bed Set
you: Sleep Number King Size Premium Modular Bed Set
you: Sleep Number King Size Ultimate Gel Memory Foam Modular Bed Set
Andy: The Limited Edition bed set is like our i8 model, but our i8 has temperature balancing material embedded into the cover to help keep you cool and the QVC limited edition has silver ions instead to help fight bacteria, and not as plush of a pillow top.
Andy: The Premium is a mix between our i8 and i10 models. The i8 has 3" of comfort foam, the i10 has a 2" comfort foam layer and a 2" memory foam layer. The Premium has a 1" memory foam layer and a 2" comfort foam layer. It's pillow top is not as plush, but has the temperature balancing material.
Andy: The Ultimate Gel is like our m7. They both have a 3" thick memory foam layer infused with cooling gel to keep you cool. The m7 has an additional 1" high resiliency foam layer for additional comfort.

Sleep Number Bed--Store or QVC

After reading this, I'm so glad we opted to get the Bobopedic gel mattress over a sleep number! They sound terrible!

Re: Sleep Number Bed--Store or QVC

We got our sleep number from the store, we got a coupon from a friend and took advantage of a sale. We went with one of the mid level models and paid about $3500. I can say that I absolutely HATE the bed. The earlier comment about it being a glorified air mattress is so true. Every couple of nights I go sleep in the guest room to get a good night's sleep. If the bed was a king, we would have switched them 2 months after having the sleep number bed.

The only sleep number I liked was the most expensive because it has so much padding. I actually just went to bobs and R&F and really did not like the foam beds but I loved a $5000 mattress named Black something.
