sleep positioner
My daughter is three weeks old and hates her bassinet. All day she sleeps well in her swing but at night she freaks out as soon as we put her in. After a while she will fall asleep but she is very restless in the bassinett and is always calm in the swing.
Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know if a sleep positioner would help and does anyone know if there is a recommended one or one that has been researched (to prevent SIDS). I can't seem to find any info about it.

Re: sleep positioner
i had the same problem, try swaddling. My son is now 8 weeks and will not sleep until his arms are snug and restrained. However he would sleep for hours in swing. He also not sleep in pack and play bassinet it wastoo big. I think he likes sleeping in small spaces...I do too!

Re: sleep positioner
We don't use a bassinet -- just our crib -- and Emily will sleep no problem in it during the day but hates it at night. I think she likes being right beside me at night because she sleeps in her bouncer or car seat right beside my bed no problem.
A sleep positioner might help - it might help your baby to feel more closed in. You should also try a good swaddle because I know that helps sometimes too.

Re: sleep positioner
Sleep positioners add a bit of risk, so I wouldn't use one myself unless it was required because of a medical condition.
I would also recommend swaddling. The Miracle Blanket has saved many a mom's sanity!

Re: sleep positioner
My baby hated the bassinet too. We tried it maybe two nights and then he slept in his carseat until he was ready for his crib at around 6 weeks or so. I used the positioner in the bassinet and it did not help.

Re: sleep positioner
I think the sleep positioner is the best. My doctor HIGHLY recommended it too. It keeps them cozy and you can sleep better knowing that they wont turn over (risking SIDS) which is not really possible anyway when they are so little
