Sleep sak users
Do you find it helps your DC sleep better? My SIL thinks the sak helps her DS with night wakings and suggests I try it with Ryan. He is so mobile at night - not sure if it will help or hurt. Anyone else find it helps with this?

Re: Sleep sak users
Not sure if it helps him sleep or not, but I plan on using it until they don't make one big enough for him. He's in a Large now, and I think they go up to XL. Not sure if it was coincidence or not but he finally did start sleeping all night when I started using that instead of swaddling in a regular receiving blanket. I love them!

Re: Sleep sak users
We used the sleep sack with Lucas during the colder months (November - March) and my little olympian always managed to move around, across, flip-flop, side-to-side in the crib...but it kept him warm. I used it instead of a blanket.
In that regard...I do think it helped him because it kept him warm...so wakings had nothing to do with that. Funny thing is that once we stopped using the sleep sack was when started sleeping all night every night...but that was a coincidence...it was just the age - he was ready to do it at that point.

Re: Sleep sak users
In the colder weather we are total sleep sack users. My DD is a toddler so now we buy the sack with the feet openings but my DD loves it.

Re: Sleep sak users
I started using the sleep sak when we started putting Athan in his own crib at night last week. Since putting him in the sak and putting him in his crib - he has been sleeping 8-10 hours straight at night. And he is the most restless sleeper that I have ever seen!!! The sak doesn't keep him from rolling and moving all over the place. I think it works well for him. We use the sleevless fleece looking one. I will buy some with long sleeves for the winter that I saw at BRU.

Re: Sleep sak users
Worth a shot - I'll do anything at this point!
MB only worked for so long b/c he started breaking free. Now he tries to scale the side of his crib - literally hand over hand climbing the side

Re: Sleep sak users
I love the sleep sack. We have been using it since DD was about a month and we will continue until she no longer fits in them. She gets around very easily in her crib even with it on.

Re: Sleep sak users
i've been using one since DD was 3 months. she definitely can still move around in it and it keeps her warm because we have the AC on at night. i love them!! she sleeps 10hrs a night but i'm not sure if it has to do with the sleep sack.

Re: Sleep sak users
When it was cold we used them, and now we haven't used them for a few months. He actually started sleeping better around the time we stopped using them, but I think that's due to his age.
So I don't think they really help so much with sleep. Maybe if they aren't cold (kicking off blankets) they sleep better though?

Re: Sleep sak users
I had a DS that had to be swaddled, so I only used the sleep sak a few times. Luckily for us, the weather got warmer as he was getting too big for the swaddle me and we didn't really need a blanket anymore.
The thing I didn't like about the sleep sak when he was smaller was that if I had to change his diaper in the middle of the night, it seemed to be a lot harder to do it when he had the sleep sak on, but maybe that's because I didn't use it very much and wasn't used to it.
