I've tried silk and satin and didn't notice any difference...it's also supposed to be better for your skin, and I still have sleep/crease marks when I wake up.

I sleep with a satin pillowcase and don't notice much of a difference. 
It's supposed to keep a blowout looking nicer.. but I think it depends on how good of a job I do blowing and ironing....... If I do a good/thorough job with the iron, it doesn't matter what I sleep on!

When I blow my hair out, I wrap it and then cover it with a silk scarf. I notice that my hair is smoother and the blow out is preserved.

One of the benefits of sleeping on a silk pillow it does not sucks the moisture from your hair. Also, it is very gentle on your hair.

I've heard this before. I think it goes waaaayyyyyy back. It's still written about in beauty mags! Never tried it myself, I have smooth straight hair.
