Sleeping problems...advice needed.

I've been waking up every night at about 3:30am to go to the bathroom. When I get back into bed I am wide awake and can't get back to sleep until 4:30am or later. The alarm goes off at 6:30 and I am exhausted.

Any suggestions on how to get back to sleep?

I wish I had some suggestions! I wake up a number of times to go to the bathroom and it is sooooo disruptive. Sometimes I fall right back asleep...sometimes i don't. I hate it when I don't...its the worst feeling!

Sorry no suggestions...just wanted to let you know I am right there with ya Chat Icon

Re: Sleeping problems...advice needed.

I hear ya!

The last 3 nights I've woken up around 3:00 am like clockwork and had to pee then had bad heartburn and couldn't get back to sleep.

Someone suggested NOT turning on the lights when you get up so that your brain doesn't think it's daytime.

The only other thing is to make sure you limit your liquid intake at a certain point of the night so you don't have to get up to pee.

I'm sorry!! I can totally relate... I havent slept a full night in months... the past two nights I havent fallen asleep until 6am! Its terrible!! These things havent worked for me but I heard try taking a warm bath before bed, limit your fluids after 8pm, and if you are wide awake dont stay in bed... get up and do something... GL!!

I'm having a horrible time sleeping lately. DH's snoring seems to be so loud. When I get up to pee, I can't go back to sleep if he's snoring. I've gone to the couch or I start doing some chores. I hope it gets better for you!! Chat Icon

I wear earplugs and the quiet really helps me sleep.

Can't help ya, but I feel for ya. I was in the same predicament...woke up at 3 & then back to sleep around 430, alarm goes off at 530.

For a while I'd lay there & then a few nights I'd get up & go online (here) or read a book & hopefully get tired.

Re: Sleeping problems...advice needed.

Unfortunately I'm going through the same thing. At 24 weeks, I've reached the point where I can't get comfortable. Waking up at 3AM to use the bathroom and then lying awake until at least 4 is now my normal routine. I've tried using pillows in different places but nothing seems to work. Chat Icon
