Sleeping question--am I doing the right thing?
DD LOVES to sleep. She typically sleeps for 5 hours at a time at night. But every once in a while (like today), she'll take really long naps...we're talking like, 4 hour naps.
I've always been a big believer that if baby's sleeping, who am I to wake her? But I am concerned that she's not eating frequently enough.
Should I be waking her, or letting her sleep until she wakes on her own?

I truly believe the adage of "do not wake a sleeping baby"
if she had her days and nights confused then maybe that would be a different story, but it doesn't seme like she does! Also if she is not gaining weight, then you should wake her..
Congrats! What a great girl

My DD is 2 weeks old and on some days she definitely takes looooong naps and I do NOT wake her, she is definitely getting enough food as she's gaining weight like a champ!!! I'm a true believer or not waking a sleeping baby!!!!! I'm not messing with that!!!

I never woke up DS when he was that age - or ANY age for that matter She will let you know when she is hungry, and as long as she is gaining weight... enjoy it mommy!

if she is gaining weight like she should, i don't think there is any reason to wake her. i never woke DS from a nap even as a newborn and it did not screw him up at all. he had his days and nights figured out after about 3 weeks and he has been sleeping through the night since he was 8 weeks old.
