Sleeping Question. WWYD
I have been trying to get DD to sleep longer at night instead of only 2-3 hours at a time and last night she finally slept from 10ish-4:30!! I am so happy. BUT it was in my bed with me. Just the other day I started to try and put her in the crib but she will sleep for about an hour and then when she wakes up she wants to get out right away. Do you think I should keep her in the bed where shes starting to sleep longer and then try with the crib later or still keep trying to push the crib on her and just go with the couple hours at night?

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
How old is your DD and is she nursing or formula fed?
I had DD in bed with me until she was 6 months old. Once we put her in her crib we didnt have a problem. I think also because she's older and on formula. We did have to let her CIO for the first 2 nights but after that she was good and she'll sleep for about 10-12 hours a night.

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
I would never want her to get used to sleeping in my bed, so that would never be an option for me. I would try perhaps swaddling her or making sure she's warm enough when you put her in her crib and see if she gets used to it on her own.

I definetly dont want her to get used to sleeping in the bed either. I have been trying so hard to get her on some type of sleeping schedule though and I feel like I finally got something with her last night.

It might take a little time for her to get on a real schedule but as long as you stick with it she'll get used to it.

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
DD really didn't start sleeping longer or thru the night until we started her on solids...
i would say to be careful with her sleeping in your bed with you, i hear that is a hard habit to break.
But - if that works for you and you are ok with it, then it's fine..times are different, most of us mommies have to work in the morning so we have to do what ever it takes to get some sleep

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
How many ounces of formula is she drinking? If she is drinking enough you can try skipping the midnight feedings... ONLY if she is eating enough during the day. Try putting her back to sleep with out feeding.. she will get the hint eventually. If she is really that hungry she will let you know and you should give her some formula. I got my baby sleeping thru the night at 9-10 weeks.....ate 28-32 ounces a day.

She is still very spiratic on her ounces a day.. but she definetly eats. Sometimes she will take in an ounce and a half but then be hungry in an hour again.. or she will do 2,3 or on a good feeding 4. She still has not gone over 4 though. I dont want to rush her but I would like to slowly try and get her sleeping better.

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
Your right, I would not push her in the eating catagory BUT the co-sleeping deal is gonna be hard to break once she gets used to sleeping w/you.. it just snowballs into a habit that is soooo hard to break. Your better off getting her used to sleeping in the crib..it takes time. Do you have a soother in the crib, a mobil or anything to make her feel calm?

I do have a mobil. I will try that tonight. I was thinking of maybe getting a white noise maker. Maybe that will help her to stay asleep better. Thank you so much!!

Re: Sleeping Question. WWYD
MY DD loves this Winnie the Pooh teddy bear that you squeeze its tummy and it plays soft music for 8 min and it glows...turn lights off and it puts her to sleep. You will find what works good for your baby ...hope she learns to like her bed-crib.. good luck!
