How long did your babies stay in your room with you when they were first born? How did the transition to the crib work? Thanks

Both of mine went right into their cribs from day 1. My room wasn't big enough for a bassinet and DH wasn't comfortable with co-sleeping.

DD stayed in her bassinet til she was 7 weeks old or so. We always put her in her crib during the day from birth, starting with random times, then just for napping, at 8 weeks she was totally sleeping in her crib.

She slept so much better in there than in the bassinet.

we had him in a cradle for a few weeks (maybe 4 wks?) and then he went right into his crib, no problems.

She was in the cradle for 2 weeks but really didn't like it...so we moved her into the crib. It went fine.

Both DC went in the crib on the first night. They both have convertible beds, so we had/have the mattress up close to the top, so it's at bassinet depth for us, but the dimensions of a full crib for DC. Neither one had a problem with the full-size mattress.

Steven was in the crib since day 1. He is 8 weeks and sleeps through the night. His room is right next to ours (we share a doorway)

DD is 4 weeks and still sleeps in the bassinett in our room. We have started daytime naps in her crib. We hope to have her in her crib completely by 8 weeks.

DD stayed in the bassinet until 4 months. She loved the crib - she was getting too big for the bassinet- evertime she moved she work herself up.

Hmmmmmm...I guess I had a bit of a seperation problem DD was 5 months old when I put her in her crib

mine is 3 1/2 months and still in the bassinett.....

I moved my daughter from a pack n play in our room to the crib at 10 weeks and it was no problem at all. I just swaddled her the same way I had been in our room and she was happy.

I moved him to the crib at 3 months. I would put him in there here and there before that to get used to it.

He was fine with it....he doesn't sleep through the night yet, so it didn't change his sleeping at all.

I am so jealous of you all that were able to get your babies to sleep in a crib! My dd is 3 mos and sleeps with me or in her swing. She won't sleep in the crib for more than a half hour. Just bought the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child...hope it works!!!

crib has been in my room since day 1. Dr told me today I can move him and crib to his room if I want.

I think by 6 weeks she was fully sleeping in her crib. Around 2 weeks we'd start her out in her crib and then when she woke up, bring her to the bassinet.

Week 2 we started with the crib... while he was in our room, NO ONE got very good sleep. DH was the meany and made us switch. But it was for the better!

If/when I have #2, they will be going in the crib day 1!

DD hated the bassinet (probably because of a reflux problem) and slept in her swing in our room until she was 4 months. The first night in her crib she (and I) cried as DH stood between me and her bedroom reminding me it was for the best. She cried for approx 10 minutes and went to sleep. She didn't start to take naps in her crib until about 6 months old.

Kerri was in a bassinet in our room for 3 months...then we put her in the crib no problem
