sleeping through the night?
My DS is just over three months and on a fairly regular schedule especially at bedtime. Bath, books, laying down in crib and then off to sleep. He usually goes down at about 7:30-8:00. He takes two naps during the day, typically totaling about 2, 2.5 hours. So, he still seems to be waking up twice during the night but the strange thing is how much it varies every night, sometimes could be at 1 and 5, sometiems could be at 2 and 3:30 , sometimes he may only get up once....its so random.....I've been reading that a lot of babies are sleeping through the night at 3 months and just wondering if anyone may have some insight as to what makes a baby sleep through the night or if there is anything we should be doing. He drinks about 6 ounces every four hours, overnight, he tends to drink less, and he is in the 95% for weight....would sure help this tired and cranky working mom at this point! LOL!

Re: sleeping through the night?
DS is almost 4 months and has been sleeping from 9-7:30 for about 6 weeks now. I know DS wouldnt make it from 8pm through, not yet at least. I put him down at 8:30 one night and he was up at 5. He is also 95%tile and drinks about 6oz every 3 hours. Would it be possible to try pushing back his bed time 30 minutes and see how that goes?
I cant help much, christopher never woke up more than 1x a night but his bedtime has never been earlier than 9pm.

Re: sleeping through the night?
My dd was similar to your dc at that age, then at about 4m she started to really go through the night. I found if i kept her well fed during the day and give her a bottle right before bed, she sleeps through the night. Shes 6 1/2m and occasionally will have a day here and there that she still wakes during the night.

My ds is the same age but I can't help you. I have a nocturnal baby. He is a terrible sleeper. Luckily I don't need much sleep to function. Good luck I hope you get some rest soon.

Re: sleeping through the night?
For the last 2 nights, DD has slept through the night. It started the night she turned 12 weeks old. I'm ecstatic bc I'm back to work this week and I needed the sleep! She's also in the 95th percentile for weight... I think it's because of her new feeding schedule. We feed her every 4 hours.
The first 2 bottles are 6oz each Then in the afternoon she's usually hungrier so she gets 8oz Then another 6oz at 7:30 when we get home.
She goes to bed by 8:30-9:00, but DH gives her another 6oz bottle sometime between 11-12 before he goes to bed, but she doesn't always take the whole thing. She's been staying down until 6:30 in the morning since we started this. I just hope it keeps up.
ETA: She also takes at least 2 naps during the day, probably about 3 hours total.

Re: sleeping through the night?
My DD was sleeping through the night from 8 wks, BUT then around 4 months started waking up in the night. I always feed her a bottle right b4 bed. She is in 90th for weight.
YET when she'd cry it was b/c paci fell out OR sometimes around that age, it was teething related.
Perhaps if you can slowly wean him off the bottle...maybe give him a little water instead of formula? Then slowly wean him off that?
I find too that if I let her go to bed 1/2 hour later it really had no effect on if she woke up/not during the night.
Good luck
