Slow cooker vs. pressure cooker....

I grew up w/ a pressure cooker- my Mom used to cook in it all the time. years ago, I got a slow cooker b/c I thought it was safer. Fast forward to my friend telling me how great they are , and how much safer and easier they are to use. My question is, should I get a pressure cooker- or stick w/ my slow cooker. I am on the fence about getting one- not sure- and if I do get one- what brands do you recommend and some recipes. Pro's and con's ????

I never used a pressure cooker but I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE my crockpot. I use it for so much. I make my Sunday sauce with meatballs and everythhing in it. Usually you sit there for 2 hours stirring it but not with the crockpot. I would like to learn how to cook using a pressure cooker. I would just use both.

I love my pressure cooker! There is nothing like being able to whip up chicken soup for DS in a half hour! It's also great for beans since you don't have to soak them (lentils).

I love my pressure cooker, I use it all of the time. I prefer the quick cooking (while i'm home) to the long cooking while I'm not home (although I know nothing will happen). Meats come out so tender in the pressure cooker in such short amount of time. I'm so happy my mom introduced the pressure cooker to me

I own and love them both. I grew up in a house where my mom used a pressure cooker a lot. It used to scare me because I always had this fear like she was going to blow up the kitchen and one of my friends got burned on her arm from removing the top too early. So, I ended up buying an electric pressure cooker by Cuisinart. I love it!

If I had to buy one to use on the stove it would have been Fagor.
