SLPs/ SLP grads who took/taking comps.....
Can you please tell me how you "structured" your study time? We have a study group of 5 to break up the reading material, but I think I need more guidance.....

Re: SLPs/ SLP grads who took/taking comps.....
Where do you go? I graduated 4 years ago from hofstra. anyway, our comps were essays so we got together and put together case study questions, write answers and then discussed. we talked to recent graduates to get ideas of the questions. Also the Praxis book was great- read the chapters and do the chapter reviews. we also got together and discussed those answers as well. I think study groups are very helpful because as you review together, questions naturally arise and you combine each other's input to formulate comprehensive responses. sorry im rambling, it's just that the talking about the comps brings back bad memories! let me know if you have any other questions!

As another Hofstra grad. (6 years) we had a small study group. We typed and reorganized the notes from each class, each person took a class, then presented them as a review to the group. We had unofficial copies of the previous years' essay questions so we practiced outlining and answering those. Also, we used the praxis book. GOOD LUCK! You will do fine!
