Small update at bottom: A store just sold me its competitor's merchandise...
DH and I just bought this mirror from a HUGE lighting/decor store near us. They're are a small chain (they have 2 other locations in southern NJ).
It was tagged for $309, but the sales person readily took of 20%.
We came home and unpacked it from the bubble wrap and the sticker from THE OTHER STORE is on the back of it and it's marked $195. So, I just got ripped off by $47. And, I guess I feel cheated/misled because this is clearly NOT the store's merchandise that I thought I purchased.
We have 2 lamps on order from this store now (we already paid for them)...also at 20% off and free bulbs included. I just googled the lamps and this price ends up being worse than other prices out there by about $60 EACH...but DH's keeps telling me to "just leave it alone"...I AM SO MAD!

What gets me is that the store I bought it from carries LOTS of brand names.
But, having a REGULAR sticker on this mirror from a different store makes it OBVIOUS that a "regular" customer bought it and it somehow ended up in this store.
Now, I have DH breaking his back to hang it, while getting all mad at me for being upset about this. I keep reminding him that the girl told us we could bring it BACK for a FULL REFUND if it didn't fit on our wall and how we should just DO IT and then go to the "real" store and buy it there for less.
He doesn't want to be bothered.

Or, the store where you bought it got it from the other place maybe b/c they couldn't get them, or maybe because it was cheaper than if they bought them themselves, and they have to mark up the mirror to make a profit. I'd be totally pizzed and would return it, regardless of what DH had to say about it. Between the 2 lamps and the mirror, it's about $170 more than you should be paying. That is alot!

i'd march right back to the store and tell them i want to pay what the sticker says.
if they say 'no' take your lamps off of order and go elsewhere.
thew won't want to lose your business.
Think about how much profit that they wanted to make from you, but not from someone else, at the other store. that's screwed up!

Absolutely... if there's enough time I would wait until the lamps come in and see if they have pricetags on them as well.
If you go to a store and an item is physically marked with a price that is different than what the barcode scans it as, they're supposed to give it to you at the lesser price.  I would be really annoyed and make sure that i got my $ back... I would also print the paper out w/ the prices for the lamps and tell them that if they don't match it you're cancelling that part of the order and just buying it from the other place!

that would bother me everytime i looked at it! go back and return it. get it cheaper elsewhere. if the difference was a few dollars, i would say forget it. but $47 is significant in my book.

The "real" seller is Z Gallerie. It's on their website for $195.
My DH already picked up one of the lamps last night. Don't even get me started.
He asked me after work if I was going to go get it (umm...hello, remember all of the yelling this weekend?).
I just looked at him and said "oh, smoking crack, are we?"
He shrugged, picked up the one lamp and brought it home. I asked him if he told the sales girl that she's a lying, cheating crook. He said "oh, no. I just picked it up and came home."
