Small victories
Did you ever accomplish something so insignficant in the grand scheme of life but very meaningful to you and feel like you just solved world peace?
I went to Target yesterday and I walked by the Christmas candy to see what I could get on sale. All I wanted was DOVE - nothing else would be good enough. I sifted through piles of Butterfingers bells and Hershey Kisses but no luck. Then I walked through the regular "non Christmas" aisle of candy, walked up to the DOVE display and lo and behold, someone stashed two bags of Christmas Dove Squares in milk chocolate in the display. I grabbed them, did a price check and they were only 75 cents each.
You have never seen anything more ridiculous than me doing a happy dance in Target over candy.
What was your ultimate coup of insignificance?

Finally organizing the pictures that were in a pile in the dining room for 2 months last night felt great! Now I just have to put them into albums and I'll be in my glory!

Having all the traffic lights be GREEN.
Each time I approach one and it's green I do a small victory dance. The more I pass through, the happier I get. It makes me feel like it's my lucky day!
(This actually happened on Saturday, when DH sent me out to pick up lunch.)

Re: Small victories
Yesterday, I changed the knobs on my kitchen cabinets and love how they look. It's the smallest thing but for some reason made a big impact.

Re: Small victories
I was in Rite Aid today and they had one lone roll of Hanukkah paper left, which I figured I could use for my ILs gifts next year. I was expecting to pay about 75 cents.
37 cents!
I know it's stupid, but it made my day.

I found 4 pennies on a clothes shelf at Target! You would have thought I found $20K.

Re: Small victories
Mine also involved Target. I went and bought a whole mess of stuff for $85. I mean 4 huge bags. These were some of my best finds: I am a teacher so I got gift bags for my kids next year ($.06 each!!!!) and cups that I'll write their names on & fill- 6 cups for $.049!!!!!. I also found a new shower curtain for $10 and 2 stockings that match my other stocking I already have for only $2.00+ when originally $14.00. LOVE IT! I came home in the best mood. Doesn't take much
Oh yea, I also found a video of Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving for $2!!!!!!! I'll add this to my classroom collection!

Dropping off my coat for dry cleaning this morning (b/c I've meant to do this since last winter and have stopped wearing it until it's clean).

Re: Small victories
Got DH to help me clean the whole house on Saturday. Have some "touch ups" to do today, but, it's so nice not to be running around like a fool.

Re: Small victories
Discovering that even though I have been off my diet and exercise routine since vacation a month ago, I've only gianed back less than one pound! I guess it's all the running around for the holidays and the fact that my eating habits have changed. It makes it SO much easier to get back in the saddle again knowing that I didn't waste all of the work I put in

I got all my errands done (UPS store, post office, bank, Target returns, Omaha Steaks, and Stop and Shop) without forgetting anything and not having a major meltdown with one of my kids. HUGE accomplishment.
