Small victories

Mom and dad got Fred out of the house and to his outpatient therapy today......WITHOUT ME!

Yes, it had to happen. I hope that I have officially been de-throned.

I gave them step by step instructions on how to make it happen and they followed them to a T.

Fred didn't want to go and he actually said he's not going back there even before he got there. He doesn't actually understand that he needs this therapy. He thinks that he is just going to rot in bed for the rest of his life.

Not if I have anything to say about it.

eta: i went there last night and manipulated him to take a shower. I told him smells like the homeless bums on the subway. The only difference is that he has a home.

Re: Small victories

It actually gave Dad a big boost. Imagine you try and try and get nowhere..now he got somewhere.

You are learning young Jedi!

All I can say is that it will probably be hard to get there for a while and then it will be ok.

It's hard to shower and shave with one leg..he said it last night. We all agreed, but just because it's hard doesn't mean you don't do it.
