smell in levittown/east meadow
There is a bad smell today around here. Anyone know what it is?

they are re-taring the school on jerusalem ave. off wantagh ave.
IDK if that is it, but we smell it in Wantagh too.

theres a smell here in bohemia too. someone on fb said it was a shipyard fire in new jersey?
i googled it but i cant find anything

Yup, I'm in Sayville and I smelled it too. The news this morning said you'd smell it on Long Island.

I thought I heard it was a salvage yard in NJ (which would account for the burning rubber smell - it would be tires).

the smell was so strong this morning, we checked all over the house. It smelled like burning plastic. yuck.

It was from the fire in NJ. I work the the police department and this smell went across the whole island. The fire was going all night and into the day on Sunday.
