Smoking outside a medical building?

I went to take DD to the Ped office and on our way out someone was smoking right outside the door. Is there a law or something that would prohibit people from smoking outside the main entrance? This also happened at my Doc's office today and the person smoking was an employee.

I don't know if there is a law or anything but I do know when I worked at a hospital they had "smoke huts" located away and to the side of the entrances ( it was like a shet) and at the dr's office I work at all employees that smoke have to smoke out the back door (by the garbage dumpsters) therefore no one can see them.

I went to the doctor today with the baby and 2 employees were smoking right outside the door, under a sign that said 'Smoking prohibited within 10 feet of any entrance.' Guess it doesn't apply on rainy days.

I work in the medical field, and my job made it so those who smoke have to punch out and then go 30 ft or so (not sure exactly i dont smoke) away from the building.

I HATE this, it drives me NUTS!!! It happens to me often at BRU with their employees-- you'd think they wouldn't allow employees to do it out front, given how many pregnant ladies & babies go in there!
