Snacks/Feeding?
I am at a loss as to what to give Alex for snacks, I feel like I give him cheese everyday. I tried banannas but they were too slimy for him to pick up. We have puffs, zweiback toast, cheerios. But I don't know what else to try. Maybe grapes? He is going to be 1 in two weeks.
Also, feeding time is getting crazy. I started giving him finger foods such as pankcakes, french toast, chicken pieces etc. He was doing good for awhile. Now all he does is throw everything on the floor. Usually, he will take one or two bites, then throwing. Getting him to eat (2) stage 2 jars of food for each meal is a project too, since he refuses to eat the baby food. I am starting to go crazy between all the finger foods on the floor and the refusal of the baby food I don't know what to do. Is this a phase (food throwing)? I feel like he is not eating enough but I can get him to eat more.
Any advice?

I have no real advice except to say that I was told it's just a phase. Did you give him Stage 3 baby food with the thicker consistency? That's what we did to get Andrew used to lumps, etc. so that when we gave him table foods it wasn't a complete shock...

Re: Snacks/Feeding?
I have tried Stage 3 and graduates, he spits out any chunks and refuses to eat it. He can eat solid foods, he was doing well with them for a while before he started throwing it all over and he will eat anything that I eat. This in between stage is really stressful!

It is stressful! Good luck coping! I spend my nights at dinnertime trying to catch his food mid-air!

Re: Snacks/Feeding?
One thing I also noticed is that when I give him a cut-up version of our meals he throws the food less.

Re: Snacks/Feeding?
Thanks for the advice ladies. I notice that if I eat at the same time as him and give him some of mine he will eat well, but that isn't realistic for all meals. I am trying to let go of the baby food, but I am stressed on if he is eating enough and the right thing.

I know exactly what you mean....I can't give James what we are eating all the time...but I usually do try and give him what ever it is I cooked for dinner...I was shocked last week when he ate a piece of Flounder.
One thing i have found is that changing the flavors he eats often keeps him interested...so if I give him chicken tonight...then I will make sure I give him somehting else tomorrow.
