If I just watched News12, Ch 7, I'd think we were getting 3-6", but the Winter Storm Warning alert says 11-15" for my area. It's all over the place!

Because I really think they have no idea.
They are usually always wrong, wrong, wrong.

They have not gotten it right once this season. So might as well just say it's anywhere from 3"- 14". Watch, they'll still be wrong. It'll either be rain or 18". Chat Icon

What the fuk?

Lee Goldberg said 6-10 for the area but, there will be areas that get more than a foot depending on where the heavy bands are (I find Channel 7 to be pretty accurate).

He said usually in March snow doesn't really stick but the weather has been cold so it will...

I'm near New City and we went from 7 when I went to bed last night to 15 when I woke up this morning. I am stressed now because we are going away and my parents and inlaws are staying with the kids. Praying we don't lose power.

Yes- I hope we all keep our power! We were out during the last storm but at least that was just overnight. Some people here were out for a week.

Yep. I'm not taking this last one well. It's every week lately.
And it's spring.
It's absolutely life interrupting. This is the second time I had to cancel meetings and move shit around.
It's like a given that every Tuesday -Thursday will be under some kind of fuked up watch. Don't make plans, because they will get messed up. It's hard to run a business like this.
I am tired of being trapped in my house, trying to work with no dedicated work space, and my bored daughter who needs to be in school at home.
I could handle it in Jan and Feb.
Not in late March.
Enough
I need to get the eff out of this inhospitable climate.
Mentally it's affecting me.
I just poured myself a glass of wine because I am not in a good state of mind and it doesn't even taste good to me nor is it helping...

Yep.

And it’s not supposed to start until late morning. Our superintendent sent out an email detailing his intentions - hoping for early close and late open Thursday... I’m just happy NYC closed because my office closes then. And many times when they close it turns out to be a lot better than forecasted.

Us too. I think they are trying to avoid closing completely because we are already in the red with days

My DD school is open. We got a call this morning that we will have school but be prepared for an early closing.

I'm here in the office, like a sucker. DD is staying with my mom in Queens and I'll probably be staying there tonight to avoid driving to LI with her this afternoon/evening. I really think tomorrow is going to be the bad day- it's not supposed to stop until like 6:00 AM tmrw.

ETA: I'm hoping my job closes early, but considering they didn't last time when it was declared a state of emergency in NYC, I doubt it. Chat Icon I'll probably leave early anyway.

They made it sound like the am commute would be fine but it is sticking to the roads in Northern Nassau and I skidded a few times. It's also coming down hard. Freakin' forecasters!

Early dismissal for DC.
At least that counts as a full day, so they won't lose a day in Spring.
