Same here- especially since everything is supposed to be worse in the city. I just want a damn snow day.

Praise God. Now lets see if we squeak by without school's closing. I doubt it though.
But maybe because it's less it won't be a 2 day affair like all other snow days.
It's cutting into my spring time off now, so it's really pisssing me off

Never! But I just wouldn't go in. Last time I dragged my ass in and they wouldn't close even after NYC declared a state of emergency. I left early since I had to take the LIRR and they were already reporting delays and they took it out of my sick time. So for thanks like that, I'm planning to just stay home the next time.

Yeah I'd rather they make the call to close early though- nothing I hate more then trekking all the way to work only to find out there is early dismissal. Then have to drive back... (I work about 40 min drive away from home).

Same here. It's always 2 days, but hopefully they can get cleaned up quick enough to open Thursday if they close Wednesday.

So the models for the most part have come further west. Some more than others. Which means less snow for Nyc and li and more for those nw of Nyc. 6-12+ inches for those nw of Nyc. Eastern li 1-3 along with coastal nj. Tricky part is where will the mostly snow line end? It may be somewhere over Nyc. Which means could it be 3? Or 11 inches for nyc? Big question! Will continue to update.

Northern Jersey here. Low end total for me 8 inches. expected is 16. high end is 18. Nj already declared a state of emergency. All schools closed by me.

I'm in northern NJ (border of Hudson and bergen county), they haven't closed my sons school yet but I am just waiting for the call. I saw 6-8 on the weather channel. Is it starting late night and going into Thursday 12am ish?

Looks like I am right on the cusp of either having 2 inches or having 8...we are in far Western Nassau. Queens is within walking distance of my house. My kids school cancelled all after school activities for tomorrow, but said they expect to be open for a normal school day. Hoping that doesn't change!

And cue the Facebook uproar. Hasn't the storm been downgraded? Even northern CT, which originally was supposed to get 14, is now getting 8. People on my FB are going nuts. Is it bad that I am ecstatic that so far, my kids have school tomorrow.

Up to 6 inches its fine im bringing my kids to school. I have AWD, I leave early and drive slow. We live in NY and for some reason we cant handle snow storms sheesh!
