JESUS CHRIST ENOUGH ALREADY!!! It's fuckingg mid fuckingg March!!!!!!!
My sentiments exactly
Me too. I can't with this crap. Ugh why can't we ever have an early Spring!?
We barely even had a winter. This was a pretty tame, lame winter. February was a joke, it was SO unseasonably warm. January was cold but even with that, we didn't really get much snow at all this season. Annnnnd, we didn't even have a fall. It was freakin' hot right up until December. This winter was a cake walk.
I think this is the problem. February was like spring so now a snowy March just doesn't seem right. It's still been pretty warm so it's hard to wrap your head around a snow storm coming. Temperature wise, we can't complain. I can't remember the last time I went outside and could see my breath.

It was hot up to December? I do recall wearing a winter coat to Thanksgiving dinner but maybe I missed it.

It was SO mild almost up until Xmas. Not even close to "see your breath" cold. Then we got that crazy cold snap right after Xmas that lasted a little while but after that, winter has been mild as can be. I've barely worn my heavy winter coat all season. We can have such colder, more snowy winters in NY. This year was a breeze.

I was curious because my memory does fail me lately. I looked up Thanksgiving 2017 in Islip. Average temp that day was 36 degrees. That to me is cold. But I guess I'm southern girl at heart so.... I guess that can be considered hot. Maybe when I get to menopause I'll feel better!

I am your opposite!! LOL To me, 30's and 40's "aren't bad". haha I get cold in the teens and 20's but fall/winter are my season. I literally die in the summer and count the downs until it's cold again.

It was freaking freezing in November! In fact, IMO, which I'm sure plenty of people will of course tell me I'm wrong, it's been the coldest winter EVER!!! Ok, maybe I'm slightly exaggerating, but I think it's been beyond normal cold on the whole.

End of December and January were very cold, like single digit cold, but the rest of winter has been unseasonably warm, especially February.

Yeah I've been getting a lot of use out of my long puffer coat and I generally only wear that when it's under 40 degrees so.....

Snow map *updating for week of 3/12
Every winter sucks. It is always too cold for my liking, there is always at least one major snow storm, and when it is only daylight from 7 am-4:30 pm- talk about depressing. Late December/early January we had that God awful cold snap that plunged us into below 0 temps some days. I know that is part of living in the Northeast- but for the record, I hate living in the Northeast lol. With that being said, this storm hasn't really been much of anything. Slushy roads but everyone seems to be out and about as if it were a normal day.

My kids had school. My school was also open but I am home with strep. I am also surprised some districts were so quick to close.

Well now we're losing days later in the year so, yay! And the way it's been going I'm sure there will be another storm this month. Annoying

This morning wasn't bad really but I do think getting kids home later could be dangerous if we get another 6 or 7 inches while they're in school.

I was hoping for an early dismissal. That way at least it would count as a day of instruction.

I'm out in Suffolk, we have a good amount of snow and it's been coming down heavy for hours now. The schools made the right call by closing. No way on the hilly north shore with all this snow would they be able to get the kids to and from school safely and timely.
ETA - Roads in the neighborhood are a mess.

Yea, it seems like it depends on where you are on the island. I am in western Nassau, right on the Queens border. We got maybe an inch, and that is only on grass and cars. Roads and sidewalks are just wet.

Yea, I heard Nassau wasn't expected to get much. They keep changing the totals but I have heard upwards of 8-10" for parts of Suffolk. We have a good few inches already and still coming down heavy.

North Shore Suffolk....we have about 3 inches, and my road is down to the pavement. Easy snow day!! Barely had to shovel! It's no longer snowing, hope it stays that way!
