Snow tomorrow?

I am such a driving wimpChat Icon My fear is being at work when the snow starts and having to drive home in something bad.

I keep hearing that tomorrow might be such a situationChat Icon

I like snow when I am home and watching it from indoors or waking up to it, NOT having to drive.

Re: Snow tomorrow?

I work about 45 mins from home and leave my house at 7:30am. Will it be snowing by then?

My other concern is that I have a holiday party so after work I have to drive another 30-40mins for a party starting at 7:30pm.

If it's a PITA to get home, I don't want to go to the work partyChat Icon

I feel just like you. And this year I have a new car that I'm NOT as comfortable with as my old Volvo, which was great in the snow. Plus, we are going to the city for my birthday (early celebration!) and I am meeting DH...I hope the weather doesn't ruin our plans. We have ticekts to a show. :(

As for having to leave work while it's getting bad, it's always better to wait it out, let the plows hit the road, before you leave work early in a panic. Sometimes I go 25 MPH and it takes me 2 hours to get home, but so be it. You have to be comfortable driving....

Re: Snow tomorrow?

What I heard this morning on channel 61 was some snow in the morning and then changing to sleet and then rain.
I don't think anything major will accumulate.
They blow this crap out of proportion all the time...

The weather report I saw this morning indicated that they have no idea what's going to happen in the area - from nothing to maybe 6inches. I would try not too worry until you actually see some accumulation.

Re: Snow tomorrow?

I know that they do keep changing the snow totals...This is the latest from the weather channel

Recently, we upped the snow total forecast for New York City as we believe that the city will receive less of a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and more plain ol' snow. We are now forecasting NYC snow amounts of 6-10 inches with nearly all of the snow falling on Friday.
