Snowman cupcake toppers - FIXED
I'm making cupcakes for DD's preschool class for thursday. I need some ideas to do something like these. I'm pretty sure they used fondant in this pic, which i've never used before, so i'm a little nervous. But then I was thinking marshmallows, but I don't know how to do the rest of it.

That looks like fondant....or buttercream. You can roll white fondant into little balls, place one on top of the other, then twist red and white fondant together for the scarf and place candies on the face to create the eyes, nose and mouth. You can buy the colored fondant, which makes it easier because red is really hard to make.

Definitely looks like fondant and a simple snowman would be pretty easy to make. Think of fondant like modeling clay. I'm not sure I would make fondant snowmen cupcake toppers for preschoolers. The little balls could be choking hazards and fondant is pure sugar. They will be bouncing off the walls.

yeah, i don't think fondant is the best choice, thats why i'm thinking of marshmallows, but I don't know what to use for the little pieces

Use marshmallows You can stick tiny pieces of licorice on for buttons or use the cake decorating icing. I wouldn't even worry about the scarf or the hat.

What about buying Snowman Marshmallow peeps and putting them on top?
As long as kids that age handle a marshmallow peep (choking wise}..... just offering a suggestion
