So a weirdo and an idiot walk into a bar.... (kinda long)
OK let me preface this vent by saying I am a card-carrying, flag-waving fanatic Childfree by Choice boo-yah gung-ho supporter supreme.... so my vent is NOT about the fact that these 2 have no offspring... But 2 separate incidents this week have convinced me there is a DARK side out there, people....
I submit to you the following..
Wednesday. Laundromat. Typically it's one of Shane's *favorite* places, he has a great time with the owner Maria, who adores him  We were at the doctor that morning and he was running a slight fever (his FIRST ONE in 18 months  ) so he wasn't "himself".... I was finishing 1 load of laundry then getting the he ll out of there, he just wanted to be HOME... Anyway Maria's trying to laugh and joke with him, he's showing his displeasure, just fussing, and then... out of the corner of my ear  .... i hear a mumble... and the f word.... and get a stankeye from a woman across the mat using 6 washers... she was, putting it mildly, a real slob of a thing.... glaring at ME... so I smarmily ask,
"Sorry.... did you say something?" But with a big grin, a trick I've learned ALWAYS reels 'em in...
SHe: "Yeah, I said can you shut him up, this isn't a "F*CKING DAYCARE."
Me: "You are right. Nor is it a library. Nor is it a church. In fact I do laundry here ALL THE TIME and you're the first to ever complain about noise from a 1 year old no less. Weirdo."
She: "Your mother's a weirdo...blahblahblah"
Me: ( cause my mommy really *is* a little weird but in the best possible way ) "You have no idea."
With that, our beautiful Maria walked over to the woman, told her to finish her laundry and NEVER COME BACK, we don't want your money. Love that Maria 
OK and the 2nd one was today. Shane's fever is gone, so I took him out all bundled up for some fresh air and snowwalking practice It was freaking cute... He looked like a weeble with a scarf, and was having so much fun. We walked on the avenue and he went kamikaze into a little snowbank; behind me, I hear a deep throaty mirthless laugh and the following: "Hahahaha what an idiot". Turns out I sorta know the guy (a 50 something year old man, by the way...) and his awkward laughter tells me he was *trying* to be funny. I just looked at him, said "Oh hi Bob." and kept walking with my little guy. But I seriously want to like HIT the guy... Who calls a 1 yr old an idiot???? Even "jokingly"????? What kind of lameness is that?????
BTW this is NOT someone who's "off" in any way shape or form; actually a dear friend of mine calls him "Arrogant Bob" cause that's who he is and she can't stand him
These 2 things really got to me, which is pretty out of character for me!!!!! But somehow tonight as I type these out I feel better I'm thinkin I have found a girl for Bob

Only you Colette  Did you throw your frozen water bottle at Bob too?
It sounds like laundromat lady was jealous of Shane's good looks. Maybe she and Bob can make arrogantly perfect babies together

What @ssholes! What is wrong with people? The other day I was at NY&Co with DS and he was coloring in the dressing room while I was trying on some pants. Before we went in the manager took a liking to him and she was chatting with him. So when we came out of the room the manager came over and he was showing her his picture. This woman comes out of another dressing room behind us....mumbles something and then PUSHES DS out of her way. I was like "excuse me, you have GOT to be kiidding me." The manager goes "Seriously lady, who knocks a small child over".
An excuse me would have sufficed.

 To you for saying something and to Maria for kicking the woman out.
To bad you couldn't sneak by the washing machine and add a "Little Bleach" to all the loads of clothes.

Ohhhh Colette, if you could hear the 'tude that went along with my sisters response, you would put her in rikers yourself I wasn't there (wish I was b/c I would've pushed the woman down myself) but I'm sure the woman left crying my sister use to scare my boyfriends away!
