So according to Baby Bargains -
(I read the stroller chapter over the weekend )
They vote against travel systems! I was shocked. They say go for the lightweight stroller.
I was so certain travel system was the way to go.
What did you register for?

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
IMO-the travel system is way too bulky for regular usage. We use the snug ride car seat and a snap and go and it is fantastic. We have the Metrolite for when DD is older.

I went against Baby Bargains and registered for a travel system.
My dd is 2 and I still use the stroller. I love it!! I don't think it is too bulky or heavy.

We too went against it and are getting one. I also don't think it's too bulky.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
I changed my mind several times about strollers. I ended up not registering for a travel system, but I did contemplate getting one and a snap and go (or universal stroller frame). I think the issue of bulkiness is when you are pushing around a stroller AND an infant seat. This way, I would use the infant seat and the stroller frame until it was time for just the stroller. The travel systems seem to be more affordable than getting each piece separately.
There are so many options!!!

I agree. I used the full size stroller, snap & go and I have a metrolite. I use them all for different things at different times.

This is exactly what we have done. I love my Snap and Go- but the regular stroller is SO much more comfortable to push around and now we use it without the carseat.

The Snap and Go is amazing for an infant....amazing! I loved it! Actually, we're still using it, but the car seat is starting to get a little heavy...so I think we might be switching her to the regular stroller soon.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
I only had a travel system for my DD I never got a travel system. For quick errands I wished I had but I loved my travel system. Yes, it's heavy and bulky but it fit in the trunk of my small car (at the time). I was able to lift right after having my c-section and I can still lift it now even being pregnant. The thing I liked most about it was the bulkiness absorbed a lot bumps when we were out and about and the ability to 'pod her' (as my mom called it) I was able to put the shield from both the stroller and the carrier and complete cover her except for the window when we were out and about.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
We were able to get a metrolite travel system and I was good with that but I agree that the snap and go is great (never had one) with infant seat and maybe a really good umbrella stroller for when baby is a little older.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
I opted not to get the travel system. I got Snap n'Go w/the Graco Snugride, which I LOVED. Now I used the Pliko3, which I also love.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
With DD #1 we had a Travel System and I hated the stroller. So big and bulky. I wound up buying a Metrolite and loving it. I do think that They make a metrolitle travel system now, which they did not 7 years ago. This time I will get a snap and go type thing.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
I ended up registering for the Chicco Travel System (Chicco KeyFit 30 infant seat and Cortina stroller).
DH and I found it to not be as heavy as other ones and we both liked the pattern and of course all the safety features.
I also registered for the Baby Trend Snap and Go as my lightweight stroller for quick shopping trips.
The best way is to try them all out in the store!

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
Just thought I'd give an update. We decided against the travel system and went with the Infant Car Seat, Lightweight Stroller, and Snap N Go stroller. Might be a little pricier, but well worth the convenience in our opinion.

Re: So according to Baby Bargains -
I hated most of the travel systems. The strollers were so heavy and bulky. I got a Pliko P3 and a Snap N Go, but my Britax Companion actually snapped right into the Pliko so I returned the Snap N Go and just used the Pliko.
