so after taking a "break" for 3 yrs...
I registered to take the CPA exam again. I don't even know where to begin, but I guess registering will put some more preassure on me to get serious about it. pray for me...

OMG! DH has been going through this for the past 2 years. He has 3 more parts to hopefully pass before march. Otherwise that part expires. It is very stressfull. I can't believe how hard they make this stupid exam to pass.

Re: so after taking a "break" for 3 yrs...
I had passed 2 parts right away, then kept failing the 3rd part
I had ONE chance to pass part 4 or else I would have lost credit for the 1st 2....talk about stress...I seriously locked myself in my house and studied for 2 months straight....when I got that letter that started off with "congratulations", I almost lost it, probably one of my biggest accomplishments

OMG!!! GOOD LUCK!!
I took all four parts when it was still the ‘old’ way. I passed 2 parts and failed the 2nd two and kind of gave up I really have been feeling the 'bug' again about doing it myself!
Are you taking any of the courses?

I feel so bad for him. He is getting so discouraged. The last part he just took hopefully he passed, but he took one of the courses angain and everything the guy swore up and down would be on the test wasn't. He knows his stuff but this test. We are waiting til he passes to have kids so he has been locking himself in at night and i go to the gym or my parents to give him peace and quiet. I'm not even an accountant and i get stressed for DH

Re: so after taking a "break" for 3 yrs...
I'm going to try to do the 1st part on my own and see if I can do it w/o a review course. The schedules just arent convenient at all, I think.

Re: so after taking a "break" for 3 yrs...
Good Luck.
Take a review course.
I passed one part and failed the second part by one point, then when I took it agian, I passed the one I failed and failed the one I passed. The third time I passed the first two parts and then by the fourth time I had passed all 4. This was the old test though.

Re: so after taking a "break" for 3 yrs...
Good luck! I passed it in the old format. I think it helped that I was still in school and in study mode. It would be much harder to do it now! I used Becker Conviser and it was the BEST! You have no idea how relieved I was when I looked at the essay question and knew the answer from my review book
Study hard and good luck
