considering getting rid of their SUVs because gas prices are so out of control?

I feel so safe in a SUV compared to cars, I don't think that I will ever get rid of my truck

no way! im not letting the gas prioces get to me. I got an SUV because I wanted a truck and love driving one now. I knew what I was getting into before I got it- gas, etc...

I'm not getting rid of mine. I drive less anyway now that I am not working but even around town I try to be careful and do multiple things on my trips out.

keeping ours for the winters and to lug things from Home Depot that won't fit in a car or I don't want in my car. We will be getting a 3rd car so we don't have to drive the jeep around all the time- not b/c of gas, but b/c it's got a lot of miles on it now and it's time to get a new car. It won't pay to sell it and for what we want it for it works out perfectly!

I got rid of mine the day it cost me 80 bucks for gas... it was a great truck, but I got a brand new car for the same car pymnt..and costs half in gas...
Ill prob miss the truck this winter..but now ill have more of a reason to stay home n cuddle up on snowy days

Nope we got a Ford F250 Super Duty Pickup (the monster) and a Ford Escape (the mommy suv)
Gas is 2.40 here which is doable and I think it will eventually go down. I make sure that when I do take the SUV out that I go to all the places I need to go in that area and Dh when he returns will be carpooling to work.
So we should be fine, we have curb things so we are barely affected by it.
We need the truck because we are still upgrading our house and love being able to haul are own stuff, may get a boat, my husband uses it for hunting (which is our meat for the winter) and long road trips are so much nicer in it.
I love my escape and the gas isn't that bad.
And most of all if I gotta evac again the truck can hold alot of our important belongings, our animals and some things for friends who need to leave as well. Just in case of the worse case scenerio happening.

I don't have an SUV, but I have a pick-up that gets right, yes 8 miles to the gallon.
We are trying to sell it & get hybrid truck.

LOVE our SUV. We put a hitch on the back of it and it has been a gem. It was so worth it. We put so much in the truck that we could of never fit in my little car.
My little car went to car heaven and we're thinking of getting another truck.
We're not going to let gas prices take away the cars we love. We could fit so much more and pull so much more in the SUV that we could never fit or do in a car.
