SO Baby Dodge is measuring on the bigger size

How many gals were told their little beans were measuring bigger than normal? (nothing too big, but doc called for a sono). I so don't want a c-section so hearing this got me concerned. Are a lot of people told this??? I don't have GD but my family has a history of 8lb or greater (EEEK!!)

Big baby here! He was estimated at just over 6lbs at 32w where 'normal' is like 3.75lbs. I have a follow up sono tomorrow (36.2w) to check up on him and then discuss my options. Chat Icon

How did they figure that? Was it uterus size or did you have a sono?

nope she measured me outside. I have a sono next week. She said just a little big, nothing to be concerned about.

My Chat Icon has alwasy been measuring 10 days ahead and larger in weight/size.

My midwife and ultrasound tech are not concerned because my belly is measuring the right size and ultrasound determination of age and size are usually off.

I was just told at my 28 week sono- we are looking at a 9 pounder or more ( my DS was 9-12)....OB said this baby is measuring in the 83 percentile and my DS around this time was in the 65th Chat Icon ! I'm a c-section anyway, so thats fine with me Chat Icon

Re: SO Baby Dodge is measuring on the bigger size

I was told at my sono last week that my Chat Icon is measuring more than 1 week ahead. He weighed in (approx) at almost 2 1/2 lbs and i was 26 weeks. I wasn't given a percentile or anything though.

I was actually quite thankful to hear this because of the velamentous cord insertion i posted about a few weeks ago. They were worried that he wouldn't be receiving adequate nutrition so i have to continue to go in for regular sonos to ensure he's growing properly. Apparently, and thankfully, that isn't an issue for us at this point! Chat Icon

If I go full term..looking at over a 9 pounder...I have an appointment tomorrow for another Biophysical profile and to discuss my options. At least, I won't go past my due date!

My baby was measuring big too. At 37 weeks, he was measured as over 9lbs. When he was born at 39 weeks, he only weighed 8lbs 5oz. The predictions are usually wrong. Chat Icon
