so bummed about my first sono appt tonight
So I have to go to a different office to get my sonos done because my insurance doesn’t cover it at my gynos office. So I got a call that they had to reschedule for a different night. I told her absolutely not and find a way to get me in tonight since I have an appt with my gyno tomorrow. So going back and forth a million times she said I can keep my appt but there will be no obgyn to read my results. I kept it because what else am I to do
I always thought the sono tech can let me know whats going on?
And how am I supposed to be excited over something I don’t even know is ok?
Ugh I am so sad

the sono tech should be able to let you know what's going on w/ the baby. mine does... and then when i see the dr, she always says what the tech told me! lol

The sono tech by law can't tell you anything. He/she is not a doctor and therefore cannot tell you anything medical. You might get an "everything looks good," or something along those lines, but thats about it. If you have an OB appt tomorrow, you'll get your results then. Sorry you are disappointed!

Re: so bummed about my first sono appt tonight
I'm sorry you have to do this Rita. I had to do the same thing (for insurance reasons) with my DS. I did ALL my sonos (I was going for 1 per week due to placental issues) at a different office, then having them make an "unofficial" copy of the report to bring with me to MY docs office that afternoon. It was a giant hassle... I switched my insurance as soon as I could after that so hopefully I wont have that issue this go-round.
Technically the sono tech is not supposed to tell you anything, but they usually do "off the record". Enjoy seeing your little bean tonight!!

Re: so bummed about my first sono appt tonight
You still get to see your LO which is the best part of a sono!!! The tech isn't allowed to do anything besides tell you what you're looking at. They're not allowed to make any sort of medical recommendation or evaluation about what's going on there. Some techs will tell you more, but if yours wont, it doesn't mean anything is wrong.
The tech should also be able to tell you what the baby is measuring as far as a due date goes, but I'm not 100% sure.
Sorry you're upset, but it'll all be here before you know it! Even if you had to reschedule, it would just mean you'd get to see more by the time you go!
Good luck tonight!
