so bummed about my RE appt today...need your input
So this morning I went in for my RE appointment. Last Friday 10/3 I went in for my cd10 appointment for a follie check to see how the clomid worked. (I normally O on my own but we're dealing with male factor IF so the clomid is to increase our chances). Well I was estatic when I found out I had 5 little follies starting to grow sizes 10, 10.5, 11, 12, & 12.5. But today when I went in they actually counted 7 follies but they havent changed much in size at all. As a matter of fact the ones on the left size havent grown at all. This concerns me because last time I took clomid for my IUI back in May (when I got preg) the follies were growing significantly every time I had a sono. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you think my follies still have a chance to grow? I know the follies have to be size 18 to O but is there no way a smaller size will release an egg?

can you go on lupron or ganarelix to stop the ovulation while you wait for the follies to get bigger? Ask RE if thats possible??

Thanks Diana!!! I've heard of lupron and ganarelix but I'm not familiar with what they actually do. The only type of medication I've been on is clomid. So they're purpose is to stall ovulation so the other follies could grow? I go back to the doctor on Friday so I will definately ask him about this.

I'm not sure about the Lupron/Ganerlix(sp) suggestion. I don't know how they interact with Clomid. Those are generally used in an IVF cycle.
Clomid was hit or miss with me. While I never O'd on my own, Clomid had me O'ing much later in a cycle. I usually didn't trigger until CD21-23. How many mgs of Clomid were you on?

I always ovulated on my own, we were dealing w/ MF only and I found that Clomid didn't really do much for me. The one time I had two follies one was huge...I think too big to do anything. So I never experienced what you are dealing w/ but I did always ovulate later on Clomid so that's probably what's happening to you. If your dr. isn't concerned then I would just ride it out. I'm sure you'll have at least a couple of eggs w/ all those follies. Try not to stress.

You don't say how big the largest follie was today...but if the bigger ones are growing at a normal rate (approx. 1mm every two days or so)...I wouldn't worry too much. You don't want too many follies, they'll cancel the cycle. You just want a couple of strong ones and that is what the clomid is meant to do.
I always ovulated on Cd 21-23 on Clomid

I would say that you probably won't O until your lead follie is around 18. So that should buy you a couple more days. Hopefully they all grow together I o'd late on clomid too. Praying so hard for you this cycle.

I'm sorry sweetie. I really don't know too much about Clomid although I have seen a lot of ladies here say their cycles were a bit longer (o'd later) on Clomid.
Wishing you the best!!!

Re: so bummed about my RE appt today...need your input
I'm not sure of the peticulars on this (can't remember since its been a little bit since I was on the Clomid) but I had thought I remembered hearing that they can give you another quick dose of Clomid if the follies are growing slower than they would like - Not sure how far into the cycle that needed to be done though- Maybe some of the other ladies will know what I'm talking about.....How is your lining measuring ? And also did the same person that did the 1st sono do the 2nd one ? I have noticed some differences in the past with techs and how they measure...Good Luck
