So cold cuts in a pre-packed package?
are they ok to eat?? I'm addicted to the proscuitto from Trader Joes, its sealed inside a package, pls tell me its ok? I don't think I can live without it

They are ok if you heat them to steaming (160 degrees I think) to help kill of the listeria bacteria.
I have chosen not to eat cold cuts at all, not worth the risk to me!

ughh the thought of it hot just grosses me out, I'd rather do without, I thought it was only the deli cut cold cuts that have the listeria issue?

i was grossed out at the thought of hot cold cuts too so i microwave then throw it in the fridge for a few minutes to cool down again.

Since proscuitto is cured I think it's on the no list. Check with your doctor.

they have to be sliced somewhere! I just choose to stay away completely. I also think mommabear is right about the cured meat.
