So DH picks up my "What to Expect" book last night

and starts reading all the symptoms and then says to me "are you sure reading this isn't just putting all these sypmtoms in your head? You seem to have every one of them at all the same times the book TELLS YOU to have them."

No, the book is not "putting the symptoms in my head".

If you don't shut up, I will be putting my foot up your a$$!!!

Jerk.

yes, it's just a funny coincidence that i get the symptoms at the exact same time the books says i will. Chat Icon

um, dummy, ever think that maybe those symptoms are in that book in that specific chapter b/c they have done research on other preggo women?

sorry your DH gave you a hard time. Chat Icon my DH likes to question me about the gross symptoms he reads about. so far i only have a few. he's excited for the flatulence to kick in.

Hmmm... see I try to entice some interest out of him by telling him all of the gross symptoms I'm likely to get! But I don't think any of it is making this real for him just yet.

He's usually sympathetic, but I haven't had any constant symptoms beyond sore breasts so when I say I'm tired or something, I think he thinks I'm using it as an excuse.

Stupid boys!

OMG, that is worthy of violence. Chat Icon Perhaps they did a few minutes of research before writing the book?

You complain about being uncomfortable, but it's all in your head...it's SO not the 35lbs you put on that is all concentrated in one area of your body or the fact that our child is shifting all your organs around and doing a tapdance on your bladder. Nope, it is psychosomatic.

That is the exact reason I don't allow him to read my books! Chat Icon

Although, thankfully I haven't experienced most symptoms portrayed. Chat Icon

Oh - that response always ticks me off when DH says it to me!

Last weeks conversation - "My GF said that your feet start to swell". Three days laster my feet got swollen for an entire day - they looked like little piglet feet. What is DH's response " Oh - that just happend cause you put it in your head".

They really are annoying sometimes, aren't they?? Like I could have put "swelling feet" into my head!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My sister is 7 1/2 weeks behind me, and my BIL keeps telling her that she's only having "symptoms" because I did or I told her she's going to! Chat Icon
