So discouraged after shopping!!! Need ideas/thoughts please!!
I went to Destination Maternity on Rte 110, in hopes of finding a dress for a wedding I have in 2 weeks. Well, needless to say it was a pure waste of time. I tried on 3 Motherhood dresses, which were so cute, but when I put them on, I looked like I was wearing a tent or a big sheet. I felt so fat. I am in my 12th week, and starting to show, in the lower abdomen area (below the belly button). I was not thin to begin with, so it's hard for me to believe I am showing. I just feel fat. Also, my stomanch area (above the belly button) is getting fat too, so that doesn't help. I just need to accept that empire waist does NOTHING for me, at least not now.
It was suggested to me that I try Lane Bryant or NY & Co and get something in a larger size and/or in a stretchy material. It was also suggested I try Target, but I feel their stuff is too casual for a wedding. Any ideas/suggestions?? The wedding is in 2 weeks, at The Riviera, and I want something that I will be able to wear again.
TIA!!

I would try Macy's or a department store and go for something non maternity that gives a little.
That transitional time where you are not showing enough to look "pg", but nothing fits cause you feel huge-its horrible.
I have BTDT
Good luck!

Maybe try looking for seperates instead of a dress. If you get a nice top and skirt, it might be easier to find a good fit for you now.

I had to wear a dress to my niece's communion when I was approx. 14 weeks along and I wasn't big enough for maternity yet. I wore a stretchy wrap dress (I think the material is called matte jersey.) You might be able to find one that's dressy enough for a wedding. And you can dress it up with accessories.
Good luck! I hope you find something.

when it comes to dressy...Ive been doing dress pants and dress tops. I think it looks better on a preggo then the tent dresses. Macys had some nice stuff.

I agree! I recently went to a wedding and this is what I did. I'm in my 3rd tri so all the dresses lookedlike tents - so I went with black pants and a "special occasion top" - many of the other preggos at the wedding didi the same thing!
