so discouraged...vent
so i had my demo lesson and needless to say it did not go well. the actual lesson and time with the kids went well, but the interview portion i felt was a disaster. i just choked. it was hot and i am 9 mos pregnant and i just froze.
the fact that i even got this far is amazing. i get so close but can never seal the deal. everyone gets stuck on the same thing...limited classroom experience. in the meantime, i have been teaching for 13 yrs so i dont understand. i guess they feel my time in private settings and doing early intervention and preschool spec ed doesnt count, which in my opinion should.
i just dont know how i am supposed to get more "classroom" experience when no one will give me the chance. i know i am an excellent teacher...it's just so frustrating.
thanks for letting me vent!

What about applying to be a sub in the school district or another school district? That way you can get classroom experience that they are looking for.

ITA. If it's possible, subbing might be a great option for you. You get the classroom experience districts want, but don't have to plan lessons or grade papers.
That said, I hope you get the job!
