I posted a while ago that DD has been coughing after she runs around a bit much (not always , but sometimes).
We went to an asthma specialist/allergist yesterday and he thinks DD has a mild case of RAD. He doesn't think she needs any kind of medication since it seems to be a very mild case, but we have to watch her.
He also said there are 2 possibilities, either this will go away as she gets older (he thinks this will most likely be the case in DD's case) or she will develop asthma (exercise induced asthma). DH has a family history of asthma and allergies.
Chat Icon The dr also did an allergy test and she is sensitive to dust mites. So we have to get covers for her mattress, vacuum often and put away all her stuffed animals.....
I'm just curious if anyone's DC has or has had the RAD and has similar issues.

My older son had this when he was about 17 months old. he was hospitalized for it. He is going to be 5 next month and has never had an asthma attack, so we believe its gone away on its own. We do give him nebulizer treatments with Xopenex when ever he gets a cold, but since that one episode he has never again been in the hospital

my son has had it since he was six weeks old. he is now 16 months. He takes steroids via nebulizer every night and Xoponex as needed for flare ups. My son is also seen by a pulmonologist. My son wheezes without having a cold or cough. I have asthma so he may not grow out of it.

In DD's case she doesn't have wheezing or anything.
The only thing she starts coughing after she runs around little too much, but not always. So I guess we'll see what happens, she is 2.5 now.
