So excited, just had to share
We're buying into a pretty small (63 unit) cooperative complex. The apt we're buying is currently in pretty poor condition. We'll be renovating the kitchen and bathroom as well as recarpeting bedrooms, redoing the hardwood floors in the rest of the apartment and painting everything. (This is what we were looking for.) Anyway, being nosy me, I still get the listings sent to me from mlsli for that area. Our exact same apartment nicely done but NOT to the extent that we plan on doing it, just went on the market...
For $113,000 MORE than we're paying!!!!  
Obviously that's "asking" price but we're not even in yet! Including the $ we're going to be spending on renovations, it's still 35% higher than the total we'll be putting into it/paying. And that's now! We're planning on holding this until we leave NY - about 5-7 years from now.
Anyway, just wanted to share
